Why not make it easy… book an in-home newborn lifestyle session!
So, you already have a toddler and the thought of having to go to a studio to get newborn photos makes you want to cry… Not only are you having to think about your newest addition to the family, you are now also contemplating how on earth your oldest child will cope with hours on end in a studio setting… Well, this session might just be the one you’re after!

In-home lifestyle sessions are great for everyone, but especially for those of you that already have other little ones running around wanting all of your attention ALL of the time!! I have been there, it’s not easy. This session allows for you to stay in your home and have all of the memories of the first few weeks of your newborn’s life surround by the people and things that mean the most to you in the world.

Older siblings love to show me around their home, inviting me to take photos in their room, showing me their favourite toys and even Turing into super hero’s if I’m lucky!

If you’re looking for capturing the connections between your family and it’s newest member, this would be the perfect option for you! Coffee and tea breaks are standard, as well as lots of fun and cuddles in a far less stressful situation.

I look forward to hearing from you to book your in-home lifestyle session!
Siobhan ❤️

Family Connections
Spring is just around the corner and I’m so excited to see the flowers blooming and the birds awakening after a long winter!
But before I get too ahead of myself, I wanted to share this winter wonderland photo session of Celina and her beautiful family. It was a lovely snowy day filled with laughs, rosy cheeks and lots of smiles and silliness. One of my favourite things about photography is capturing those real moments when families are simply spending time together.

I love having a background glimpse into how people connect with each other. Being behind the camera allows me to take little snapshots of the playful fun, toothy grins and sweet family moments.
Celina really wanted her mom to join in the family session so they would have photos to look back on after her visit. Kids grow up quickly and it’s so nice to have these memories documented for everyone to enjoy. Photography is such an amazing tool that gives us a gift etched in time.

One of the most important things for me in a photo session is trying to create a relaxing and fun experience that allows people to feel comfortable. The best photographs are those that come from the truly candid moments.
If you have been thinking about having your own family photography session, I’d love to be a part of it.

Mesha’s Fresh 48

Being welcomed into a room to meet a brand new beautiful baby is one of my favourite things to do. Those first 48 hours are a time for getting to know your new little human, and what better way to celebrate than to get some photos!

Not only is it a time for you to get to know your baby, it may also be a time for your oldest child to meet their sibling. It really is a moment to treasure.

Babies change so much in the first few days after birth. I not only look to capture the connections between you, but also all the details.

A little gift from her new baby sister (and lifelong best friend)!

I loved capturing these memories for you Mesha, enjoy your newest member of the family… She is adorable!

Kathleen’s family session

I absolutely love meeting up with clients whom continue to come back to me year after year. Kathleen and her awesome little bunch are one of those families!
I recently found this amazing location close to Pitt Lake and knew we had to go there. It has everything, a lake, long grass, and the mountains… just wow! The only slight problem is that there is little to no cell phone service, so trying to coordinate our meeting place was like going back in time; name the place and time and I’ll be there (luckily it worked out ok)!
Here are a few of my favourites from their session…

Nadia and Sunny’s maternity session

It was a beautiful, cold morning when we met up for their photoshoot. The snow had fallen heavily a few days before making for a stunning backdrop. I always recommend to bring warm clothing with you for a snowy shoot and Nadia did just that! Putting on her jacket in-between each photo. With Nadia and Sunny being warm and comfortable, the session was fun and relaxed.
Deer Lake Park

This is one of my all time favourite locations! There is a beautiful flower garden, a hidden waterfall (shown in this photo) and a beautiful lake at the bottom of the park. It really shows its beauty whatever the season, highlighting stunning local flora and fauna.

I have a love for black and white photos. The emotions and and connections between the people are highlighted when the colour is stripped away. This image really stood out to me as I did very little prompting, they just naturally feel into this position; Nadia being protected and cuddled by Sunny. Their deep love for each other is so easily seen.

During a maternity session I always try and get some close up shots of your baby bump. I still find it amazing that there is a little baby in there and I have had two of my own! And her dress… wow, it beautifully stands out against the wintry background.
I loved everything about their session. Thank you Nadia and Sunny for choosing me to capture this special time for you both. I look forward to meeting your little one. ❤️

Kelly’s newborn lifestyle session
Just before the snow came last week, I was able to get out to Chilliwack to capture some family photos for Kelly and her family.

As with all newborn sessions, posed or lifestyle, I work around your baby’s needs. Their little one just wanted a little bit longer feeding and it worked perfectly as a way to document the moment. I loved the song that was hung just behind them, ‘You are my sunshine’.

Snuggling up on their bed as a family of four is always a lovely moment to to photograph.
There was also the moment when she had just had enough of her big brother talking…

The second part of their session was downstairs. Their home was such a beautiful house with so much natural light! Opening all of the curtains and blinds at the start of their session helps to see the rooms where the light poured in.
I always love to take lifestyle photos of the moments that you may forget as a parent, changing a diaper or feeding them. They are moments that you won’t realize the importance of until they are no longer there as part of your daily routine. I look to capture for you. To treasure.

Tara’s in-home lifestyle session

Tara contacted me wanting to have a lifestyle session in her home. It is a great way to incorporate your home surroundings in your photos, as well as helping the children feel relaxed and comfortable.

When I arrived they wanted to show me how well they coloured together. It was so sweet to see and something which they hold a lot of pride in.
Their dog was obviously a big part of their family and I loved capturing the connection between them.

One of my favourite shots from the session was a black and white image of them relaxing on the sofa. It has a very real feel about it… no-one is posing, they are all just there, being together as a family.

Enjoying time with her mom, looking at their beautifully decorated Christmas tree.
Towards the end of their session it was obviously time for a little something special… and who wouldn’t want to capture it on film!!! Thank you Tara, for allowing me into your home to take some snapshots in time of your family.

Rania’s family session

Rania wanted to get some family photo’s done at Redwood Park in Surrey. I jumped at the chance! Not only is it a beautiful location, but her family is so lovely to capture. Noah and Maya being are so much fun and relaxed in front of the camera.

We started by walking through the forest, looking to find some of the dreamy evening light seeping through the trees.
It didn’t take us long.
I found a log that was perfectly situated underneath a canopy of tall tress. Noah didn’t really want to be sitting still, so a few tickles helped him to feel more relaxed!

There is a clearing in the forest that meant I could get some fun shots of the kids dancing with their dad.
Rania and Jake were able to sneak away from the kids to get a few beautiful shots of just the two of them.

As we were walking back, Maya and Noah were looking closely at the forest floor to see what they could discover. There was also the opportunity to jump into her dad’s arms from an old tree stump… who could resist!

A perfect end to a wonderful shoot.
